Reposting here the note that went with it when we first sent the video to friends:
This video was supposed to be screened for the first time at our wedding last year but I didn't have the chance to finish it; we were too busy creating new memories that eventually made it to the final edit.
It's amazing to look back on the amount of media files we've amassed, chronicling our love story from the first day up to now. When I started the montage (about a year ago?) I got teary-eyed because every frame told a story. There was the time when a camera captured him stealing glances at me, the time my brother photographed me Skyping H at the hospital while my dad was battling cancer, and the times when we crossed seas to discover the worlds each of us lived in. It would have been harder without technology helping us bridge the distance, but a life straddling continents to see the man (or woman) you love is not a life... at least not for us :) So we took an even bigger step and exchanged vows.
In a few months we'll be quitting Paris and moving on to our next big adventure. Like H's pet turtle Lulu, we'll carry our homes on our backs and take a yearlong trip, just following our noses. Still, I hope we wash up on the shores of Manila sometime soon, to the warm embrace of family and friends.
This is a private video, meant for close friends only. No copyright infringement was intended in the use of Bloc Party's "This Modern Love" - it's just that the song fits our story so perfectly.
We owe a debt of thanks to the people who lent us their photos and videos. And to my editor friends - I have primitive editing software (which required guesswork pa!), so please go easy on me! I used to edit better than this :D
